The moments when the mechanics matter.

Your front door may stay in place for years. The people, keys, and routines around it change. A trustworthy lock should be designed for those ordinary moments, too.

01

You move into a new home.

You want a lock that fits familiar door standards and a clear path for changing physical-key access.

02

A key should no longer work.

On compatible models, a qualified locksmith may be able to rekey the cylinder instead of replacing the entire lock.

03

You need help close to home.

A familiar keyway gives locksmiths a recognizable starting point for common key-copy and service conversations.

Our point of view

A smart lock still has to be a good lock.

Codes, fingerprints, apps, and tap credentials can change how you enter. They should not make the physical side of your front door an afterthought. That is why ULTRALOQ treats fit, key access, and serviceability as part of the product experience.

Mechanical proof

Real hardware choices behind that confidence.

The strength of the story is in the specifics. Here are four mechanical details found on select keyed ULTRALOQ models, with the technical fact and the everyday meaning kept side by side.

01 / FIT 2-3/8 in. + 2-3/4 in.

Adjustable latch for common door prep.

The adjustable latch supports the two common backsets used in standard U.S. residential door preparation.

What that means at home A more predictable fit before installation begins.
02 / KEYWAY Schlage C compatible

A familiar key profile.

Schlage C keyway compatibility can make common key-copy and locksmith conversations more familiar.

What that means at home Your physical key is not tied to an unfamiliar proprietary profile.
Compatibility describes the keyway profile; it does not mean the cylinder is manufactured by Schlage.
03 / ACCESS Rekeyable cylinder

Physical-key access can change with life.

A qualified locksmith may be able to rekey compatible models so an old physical key no longer operates the cylinder.

What that means at home Changing key access may not require replacing the whole smart lock.
04 / CYLINDER Spool security pins

A considered detail inside the cylinder.

Spool security pins add complexity to common picking manipulation as one supporting layer in the mechanical design.

What that means at home The small parts inside the lock were considered, not simply added as backup.
No lock is pick-proof. This is a specific design detail, not an absolute security claim.
A question worth asking

Can a bump key open any front door?

Short answer: it is not that simple.

Online videos can make one technique look universal. In reality, results depend on the lock, cylinder, keyway, pin configuration, condition, and technique. That is why we do not call any lock “bump-proof.”

What we can show clearly is how the mechanical side is built: a familiar keyway, a rekeyable cylinder on compatible models, and security-pin details that add complexity to common manipulation. Specific facts are more useful than an absolute promise.

Mechanical features vary by model. Always confirm product compatibility and consult a qualified locksmith for rekeying or cylinder service. No lock can eliminate every form of attack.
